YOUR TEST RESULTS
If your doctor has requested a blood, x-ray or other test, you will be informed of the results in one of the following ways:
- Your doctor or practice nurse will inform you at the time of the request how you will access results.
- Usually the doctor or the nurse will attempt to phone you or send you a message via Manage My Health (MMH) to discuss an abnormal result. If we are unable to get in touch with you after three attempts, we will send you a written notice to inform you of the test results and the action that needs to be taken.
- We may leave a message on your answer phone to contact us if we need to discuss results with you. Results will not be included in an answer phone message unless you have specifically requested this and it has been recorded in your notes.
- Normal results will be filed. You can view these on our patient portal ManageMyHealth (MMH) or you can phone the Gore Medical Centre to request a verbal report of your results.
- If the doctor has arranged for you to have a follow-up appointment, your results will be discussed at that appointment.
- In some situations you may request that we e-mail or text the results to you. This can occur as appropriate.
- We are unable to give your test results to another person unless we have spoken to you first to obtain verbal consent which will be recorded in your notes.
- If you have any other questions, please ask your doctor or nurse.
