
NURSING SERVICES
The Gore Medical Centre offers a comprehensive range of nursing services provided by the large team of Registered Nurses. These include:
- Childhood Immunisations – all scheduled childhood vaccinations are available free of charge to all children under the age of 16 years.
- Other Immunisations – Chickenpox vaccine and shingles vaccine are all available at an additional cost. These need to be pre-ordered, so please talk with a nurse about your vaccine requirements.
- Travel Vaccinations – Hepatitis A and B, typhoid, and adult tetanus/diphtheria are available.
- Other adult vaccinations, including the annual flu vaccination
- Cervical Screening
- Contraception/Sexual Health – all patients under 20 years of age are eligible for 2 free consultations with a nurse within 12 months. This can be for any contraception issue. This funding is also available for some other patients over the age of 20 years – please ask your nurse if you qualify.
- Smoking Cessation
- Management of Long-term Conditions
- Management of Acute Conditions
- Annual Diabetes Checks
- Wound Care
- Cryotherapy for wart removal (liquid nitrogen)
- Phone Services for any questions, health issues, laboratory results, mental health concerns, triage
- Intravenous Chelation and Vitamin C Therapy
- Intravenous Aclasta treatment
