If you have any respiratory symptoms such as new or worsening cough, runny nose, temperature, sore throat, shortness of breath. COVID-19 symptoms may include diarrhoea, headache, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting & abdominal pain. Please ring Gore Medical Centre before your appointment so that we can make arrangements to see you safely.

COVID Traffic Lights System:
Southland is at Orange until further notice. While in Orange we will still be seeing patients as required but will be encouraging Virtual Consults – Telephone, video and email consults are all available. Please let us know if you would be open to an alternative consult when booking. Please phone to book your appointment as per usual, do not show up to the clinic without phoning first.

My Vaccine Pass:

Vaccine pass is available through online My Covid record or in-person at the pharmacies.
Pharmacies that are providing COVID-19 vaccinations can also help you request and print a My Vaccine Pass for free. Confirm in advance that they offer this service and have your NHI number when you visit.

COVID VACCINE UPDATE:

Third primary dose for severely immunocompromised people.

A third primary dose is different to a booster dose for the general population, which is offered at least 6 months after the usual two-dose primary course. –

The eligibility criteria for those who should be offered a third primary dose is complex and applies only to people who are severely immunocompromised. Such decisions should be made in consultation with your doctor or specialist.

Booster Vaccine

 If you are 18 years and older you will be able to access a booster dose the same way you got vaccinated with your primary course (for most people, a primary course is two doses). You will be eligible once 6 months have passed since your primary course.

AstraZeneca vaccine

If you are 18 years and older, you can book an appointment to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine. Go to BookMyVaccine.nz to book and see a list of vaccination centres where AstraZeneca can be given. Not all sites are equipped to deliver this vaccine. Please discuss with your doctor if you would like this vaccine as your 2nd, 3rd or booster dose after the pfizer.

COVID-19 Testing:

We ask all patients if you have any COVID-19 symptoms such as cough, cold, sore throat, runny nose or flu-like symptoms or if you’re concerned about Covid-19. If you need to get tested for Covid, phone us to arrange your test.

We do COVID-19 testing in an isolation room if an assessment is required. We have strict infection prevention standards in place.
